Hi bloggies,
Hope you are having an absolutely fabulous start to your weekend!

Things have gone well this week and I’m excited to make it through to next Thursday AKA- start of spring break 2010! A master plan is slowly being hatched with friends near and far. I hope something spectacular unfolds.

The start of every single Friday morning I am greeted by a “Happy Friday!” text from my Dad. I don’t know exactly when this little tradition began, but it sure is cool. This month also marks his 20th year working for the same company (Go Pops go!) A celebratory dinner is in store next time I see that man. He is such a hard worker. Both of my parents are. It makes me wonder how they had such a procrastinating savvy daughter… 😉

Moving on! How about a Friday recap? Around four today (after reading, studying, eating, cleaning, and a little bit of exercise) I decided to take a little nap. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve taken a nap since starting here at school. It just doesn’t happen. Like I said, I fell asleep around four p.m. and didn’t wake up until 8:30. Big whoops on my part. I was supposed to meet a buddy on campus for some crazy spring bash shenanigans taking place. I rubbed my eyes, looked at the time, and quickly called him to apologize. Turns out he was able to able to cope on his on. Bless you alcohol college.

After enjoying some peanut butter (guilty pleasure) I gave into some internet shopping (guilty pleasure squared). Before you judge understand this is not something I frequently do. The last time I shopped for something other than groceries and cleaning supplies was in December. I’ve recently seen some other bloggers posting pictures of really cute lunch duffles from Target. I immediately knew this was something I had to get my Mom for Mother’s Day. This lady doesn’t take a second to breathe, I swear. For weeks she would pack just a can of soup for lunch, pop the lid, and sip while walking down the hall before attending to her patients (medical field work obviously f.y.i). Many days she runs on empty until finally crashing and having a quick meal late at night (this is the way I would operate for several years. It is so easy for the two of us to fall into this pattern, I kid you not).

So, I would like to introduce you to our trendy new lunch totes. I bought two (a steal at $11 a piece) and will be on her case about properly packing lunches for work.

I’m so excited to go home and visit this summer! I can guarantee we’ll be the mother daughter duo strolling the beach with Jenny and our matching lunch totes. Yes, I love mama Jean that much! The green bag she’s carrying is plastic and for her shell collection. How sweet.

I also revisited Urban Outfitter’s website to check on a top I’ve had my eye on since the fall. It is a cute little blue lacy number (orig $42) that I scooped up for $15. Love it!

I won't look as aloof as her wearing it
Won’t look as aloof as she does, honest

They have a great sale going on if you want to check it out! Well, I guess that’s all for now. I promise to actually include more food in upcoming posts. Thanks for reading! xoxo

What do you like to splurge on?  (obviously I love Target and cute clothing deals)
What is the longest amount of time you’ve ever worked for a company? (Build A Bear Workshop for a good portion of a year. What a crazy time…in the name of fluff.)

Hey girl! So exciting that your spring break is coming up- you must be super excited! I love a good nap- makes you feel so refreshed. Cute lunch tote. I need a new one- mine is falling to pieces 🙂 I must say, I’ve been pretty bad about job hopping (mostly due to getting married, moving, etc though- so I have good excuses). I think 1 1/2 is my max

What a cute lunch bag. Pity that I don’t live in the US 😦

I think my longest time is 2 years and counting.. before I had around 6 month project jobs while studying but this is my 1st full time job ever.

I am the queen of naps! Ha, I wish I weas one of those people who say they never nap, but I do enjoy some day time snoozing.

I splurge on food far too often, but I’m pretty good about clothes and shoes and such. I love to shop, don’t get me wrong, but I love thrift and vintage stores, so I usually get good deals.

Thanks for checking out my blog!

Awesome lunch totes!! And Jenny is beautiful :-).

Thanks for stopping by my blog too!

  • Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog 🙂

I just got the e-mail abotu the sale at urban today and i can’t wait to peruse/ultimately end up spending way too much dinero on “sale” items!

my splurges are usually spent on food or dresses. i loooooove dresses. like i sort of spend waaay too much time on shopbop!

  • I like to splurge on CLOTHES and FOOD! Although, I don’t spend much on clothes at all, especially compared to most girls my age. I’d say the most expensive store I shop at is Urban Outfitters! Other than that I shop mainly at H&M and Forever 21…great bargains there.

  • I worked at Potbelly in high school for 3 years and that’s my longest so far (still in college)

I love splurging on clothes and lately, food. Although I need to save my money for some trips I want to take this year!

Aww the pup is so cute!

I am so glad you posted that picture of that lunch tote. That is so cute! (and it’ll be perfect to carry around lunches for the little ones I hope to have in the future). I typically do not buy many items online but I have gotten a few things from Target. I like to check them out at the end of Summer season and get a lot of sun dresses for a steal! Living in Florida, it’ll stay hot for another few months so it’s worth buying them.

    cute shirt, great sale

I like Target, and I always splurge at Target. I don’t know if its because it has so many different things, and some of them are really great, or if its just the novelty thing. I live in Toronto and we don’t have Target here…its always exciting to go somewhere when you can never go there otherwise.

  • I like online shopping, too! I mostly buy kitchen tools and books, etc. from Amazon.

Have you seen the BUILT totes/lunch bags ( I love mine!

  • I have that bag in blue–i LOVE it! It fits all my extra water bottles nicely, unlike my last one.

Also Target is an issue for me… I had to give it up for Lent.

  • justaudrey says:

I love the lunch totes. Adorable. I’ll have to check those out.

  • You are going to have to let me know how you like the lunch bag….I’ve had this in my hand several times, but have never bought it! Target is bad news for me. I always spend WAY too much money in there. I love it!
